Painted Buffalo Robe
A beautifully hand-tanned Buffalo robe with winter fur, painted with a warrior’s exploits
surrounding a central sunburst motif. Robes such as these were worn as winter cloaks and hung in the back of the lodge. They were in fact, a warriors biography.

in the tradition of the Northern Plains peoples. Earth pigments painted with bone brushes.
ORIGIN: Cathy A. Smith original, 1999
